DESCRIPTION:Terry Connolly\, a Member of the Suisun Resource Conservation District Board of Directors passed away on December 15th\, 2023 in Vallejo after a brief illness. He served as a SRCD Director for 21 years starting in December 2002 until he passed away\, and he was the chair of the board’s Finance Committee. \nTerry was predeceased by his parents Tom and Zella\, sister Marilyn Connolly Kelly\, and his faithful canine partners\, Tuxedo and Bear. For more information on the Advanced Pumping Efficiency Program visit their website. \nAPEP Website  \nAs sea levels rise and tides get higher\, there is a greater need for drainage through pumping in Suisun Marsh. Sea-level rise predictions suggest an increase of ¾-foot rise by 2050 to 3+ feet by 2100\, but storm sea levels will be higher earlier. The effectiveness of gravity drainage will gradually decrease in Suisun Marsh until few parcels will have that option. In the near future\, pumping may be the only way to sustain Suisun Marsh seasonal wetland management.
